There is no hostility just facts
I don't see were there is any hostility involved. I have only stated facts that support my point of view which is my right and shows responsibility about respecting oneself's body and mind to others around me. Just because someone is popular or in the limelight doesn't make them right or great. Charles Manson was in the spotlight - does this make him great? Drug abuse is rampant and destroying humanity. We should not tolerate nor should we respect it by thinking it is normal or just a passing thing like a cold. It destroys life and if it is an so-called artist that promotes the druggie lifestyle or is a abuser, we should not supply that person with funds to continue their abuse. That is all I want to say. I will never defend drug abusers and those they hurt because of their stupidity and bad choices.

Get Real
After working over 15 years in probation and Sheriff's Work programs environments, I don't live in a bubble especially when it comes to drugs and irresponsible behaviour. If you do things to yourself you are not a victim. You are doing things that you choose to do. After all those years of working with people who constantly make bad choices and choose lifestyles that are dangerous and unhealthy you become quite educated in knowing the difference between a real victim and a pity seeker. When it comes to Amy Winehouse, how many years did she study music? Who was her vocal coach? I personally don't see any value or talent in her - just another typical generation X spoiled brat.

Fire Chief is wrong and callous
The paramedics were inept in their duties of not knowing that a serious head injury or trauma mimics death like symptoms and they should have treated her as still having the possibility of being alive. They should have their paramedical licenses revoked. They are just as guilty as the drunk driver except that they are even more responsible for her death since they had the chance to act and save her but stupidly didn't. The Chief should resign and is lucky that this wasn't his daughter - he would have felt differently if this would have been his child. Maybe his lesson is coming soon. He should never be allowed to make life and death choices since he is a typical selfish idiot who defends his "people" without thinking about others who are not in the same field.

Winehouse is a whiner and loser
Personally I am tired of all this nonsense about going to rehab. It does seem like it is a new thing to do. This is a serious malady and not something that someone should be proud of or be rewarded for doing so. In the first place, to go to rehab you need to be a real drug junkie and this means you were irresponsible with the choices given to you in life. No one forces you to smoke pot or crack. No one pours a drink down your throat. These are all choices, bad as they are they are still totally and easily avoided with the word "no". I have no pity nor do I feel sorrow for those caught up in the druggie world - I especially don't feel anything for the young, rich and famous who think they can drug up and then go to rehab a hundred times to make themselves look like victims. Victims of what is the question. They have too much time and money on their hands and not enough proper upbringing and no brains. I think that all these stars and starlets need to be ignored and denied. People like Amy Winehouse should never even have had a chance to get a grammy. First of all her music is idiotic (all about "her" and her need to be noticed), secondly, she is a loser since she is not a poor young person living in the streets with no way out - she has money and chose to drug herself up. No pity from me and no money from me for her druggie music.

Future weaklings
I oppose any recess games to be banned. Recess games like tag, chase, dodgeball, and such are good for kids. This is were they learn how to compete and how to become better at something. I agree with all the other postings - kids need to learn from an early age that the world they live in is based on competition. Every school they apply for, every sport they sign up for, and every job interview will be based on "competition". Kids need to learn the skills of competing and of handling defeat. If they are always "out" they need to learn how to stay or become "in" or at least be somewhat accepted. We all can't be winners and prom queens and most of us don't want to be such. Kids need to learn that the world isn't fair and equal. They need to find their own strengths and hopefully have adults in their lives who can encourage their growth in the things they are good at. We don't need more generation x's - we have enough weaklings who want their way and think everything is to be given to them.

Overly sensitive
I think that people are becoming overly sensitive to their own feelings and are totally ignoring others feelings. We are living in such politically correct society that it has become the norm to feel that no one can say anything or criticize you in any way or they will get sued or something. This is too bad and not good for us. We need to be criticized and corrected of faults if they are destructive or unhealthy. We are becoming a society of sheep who are afraid to stand up, speak up, or do anything that might be thought provoking or rubs the norm the wrong way. We can't learn to forgive until we realize that what others say or do are just their opinions and leave it at that. We can't take everything so personally that we become emotional junkies who need to be coddled and loved every ten seconds. Until then, the word forgive is just a word.

Not only DUI offenders
Personally I think drunk driving is bad but I don't think we should hang posters of any sorts of the offenders - first of all, there are too many to hang. If we are to shame visually someone than we should show the faces of child molesters and perverts. These are the people that should be shamed and ridiculed.

What is responsible? I agree
I agree with the response "What is Responsible". There are many what if's and such involved. Personally I wouldn't watch anything unless the person was just going to the restroom and I saw them go to it otherwise in thise day and age of weirdos and terrorists, I would hold on to items like a computer or a bag for nothing.

Confused
Why would LM be sued if one of their workers stood up to protect others? LM wouldn't be sued because a person on their own time did what was right or even if they did something wrong. I am confused as how can LM be sued for something their employees do outside of their work especially if it was something noble and humane to do. Are you saying that if you work for LM you are not to react or protect if you are able to or the only one who can? This doesn't make sense nor is it hopefully a LM ideal type of person.

People without any lives of their own
Yes I do believe that the news and media have entirely become garbage news seekers but it is because people themselves have become garbage news scavengers mostly due to people nowadays not having a real life of their own. They live their lives as to how the media especially reality shows portray life. People now think it is normal to be involved in someone else's life by voyeurism. They don't physically get involved just visually. You can see how this is true when there is an accident on a 3 lane freeway when everyone has to literally stop to stare and see something. They aren't doctors or paramedics just nosy and want visual stimulation. They never get out though to physically help. The media and the news are pretty much dishing out what the majority of people in this country want to see and excite themselves with this junk. Unfortunately the majority are simple minded and enjoy seeing others in dilemmas and they themselves don't have hobbies,work-out, or even read good novels. It isn't the media's entire fault - it is ours, since we have the choice to not accept such garbage. Instead we have become a gutless society that doesn't stand up for anything anymore nor challenge issues that are serious. We are more interested in if Britney has underwear on or not and this is sad.

Cancer is a natural selection of sorts
In regards to the Saving Lives? comment, no one in their right mind would kill a newborn child to find a cure for cancer, especially if the newborn is healthy and has cancer free genes, why would you eliminate a human who is healthy to cure those who are genetic carriers of a defect? - as you stated in the begining of your statement "natural selection" includes cancers and other diseases especially since we have brought these upon ourselves with our modern lifestyles. Killing a child just for finding a cure is diabolical and not a normal thing to do - science and medicine already are playing God and causing more havoc than cures. We just need to accept the fact we cause all diseases because we are irresponsible with what God has given us. We want more and more and we want to live forever instead of taking life as it is even if it is going to be a short one. It is like the story about the person who received a Heart transplant and after their release from the hospital the very next day, gets run over by a car and dies. This was fate and nothing could have changed it. Life is a chance. We need to make and live life in the best way we can. Live your life as if it was your very last day.

Should have been more brave
I am the kind of person who has experienced many times similar situations and I always stood up. I never had to contemplate or think about my own safety. The man in this movie should have right away reacted and taken charge. Our society has become too complacent and oblivious to others.

If you didn't earn it, it isn't yours
My thoughts on this subject of returning money that isn't yours is simple. If you didn't earn, return it. About 2 weeks ago while I was paying with my debit card and asked for $20 dollars back, the clerk handed me $40 instead. I turned back to her and told her she gave me $20 extra and this is not what my receipt shows as being taken out of my acct. so I gave it back to her and she didn't even say thank you but I felt good in my heart because I did the right thing. I believe in karma - what goes around comes around.

Saving as many as possible is the best
I know that deciding whether to save one life or 5 lives is a difficult scenario to be in. But personally the more you save even if you lose one in the process will be the best outcome.

Whatever it takes
I did the same thing with my children. I always cooked from scratch and when it came to soups I would blend a variety of vegetables all together and also in sauces. My kids never knew about the variety of vegetables they ate and the amounts since I never talked about such. I just cooked and served. Now both are grown and enjoy every vegetable and fruit out there. They also aren't finicky eaters since their whole young lives I never gave them choices. I never spent one hour in a restaurant asking my diaper wearing toddler what does he want to eat. They just ate what I ate and knew was healthy. I think Ms. Seinfeld is right. This isn't a lie - it is for a child's own good.
