Great Movie

I love this short film very good story. I hope this can be make into a whole movie at the movies for people to see. We need movies like this one. I am tired of the horror films and no sense movies without a good story behind them.

Thanks

Mental Health Clinician and Writer

All comments I read were valid. However, this is a short film and the creator’s perspective – point-of-view for this film.

If made into a feature film, perhaps the screenwriter will show the full resolution of the conflict, and that the protagonist made a “hard choice” using the courage and love cultivated by his father and grandfather.

In the film, towards the end, the father was harsh and seemed bitter. The grandfather was accepting, encouraging, and provided insight for the “poor” choices father made that left him with the harsh consequences he (and his son) was now living.

We as parents tend to project onto our children our “dreams”, pains, hurts, and sometimes anger. All presented brilliantly in this thoughtfully, complex film. All the best for a brilliant career for this filmmaker!

But as a teacher...

You may make more money as a lawyer, certainly more than a teacher does, but one can touch more lives in a positive way as a teacher than generally lawyers do. There is more to life than money (though I do wish teachers were paid on par with others of the same education level).

Mii teenage Pregnancy

I do not plan on having a baby early. I just feel like if I ever do get pregnant, then I will take good care of my child or whatever, but my advice to you is to protect your sex. If you feel like you want to have sex, then you should go to the clinic and get help.

Everyone should have a dream we want so badly we can taste it! God gave us all talents that if we use them for His glory, He will bless us in our pursuits with them!

This movie was great. I too know what it is like to be pulled in opposite directions by others’ expectations for me.

I Wish

I wish I could use this film as a discussion point for our Juniors and their parents at our church. I see this tugging and pulling, especially with divorced parents, a lot.

I enjoyed the short film and love the meaning of the subject and need to follow up on his life and see more about the life of choice and other paths to take. I want to see more of the film and hope it can be a series on TV. We need positive stories to show the children not; what they are showing now. It takes one to reach out and others to reach back and before you know it, can be a chain reaction about the care and what happens to the children. They are the next generation. Thank you for reading my message.

World Awareness

I think this is one of the better film shorts you have on your site. This includes, story purpose, content, questions raised, and the ability to foster questions and answers about responsibility. I will continue to view this site and recommend to other like minded (and those not) who are concerned with contributing to their communities and furthering responsibility. Commenting on the film directly, my choice would have been for Isaiah to have taken more responsibility in looking for ways to achieve both of his goals, loves and passions. From the film his dad and grandfather did not have the skills to do this, but a high school guidance counselor or teacher should have played a key role in guiding him. Not many people get the opportunity to follow their passions and for various reasons of course. Also to be noted there are not a lot of people that have passions in life, or they have not taken the time to discover or develop them. To have a passion I think you must first discover your purpose. The two go hand in hand. Being born an American affords us the opportunity that many societies do not have, and that is choice. Some may disagree with me here, but because we are a developed society we have the time to strive for greater things our time is not consumed with survival.
