Party Guess
I enjoyed the film it was just like people in real life when you think you know a person you really don’t know them and their bad habits. He did the right thing and not getting to know her any more then he had too she is a bad risk and it is only going to get worst if her friends don’t find out what she does.

and one more thing
So some of the commentators would have us believe that if she had returned the clock, he still would have rejected her offer, and that her shocked look as she exited the car was due to something other than her realizing that the clock was not there. I shall be cordial. This is not a new wave french film leaving questions to be answered. This is the “Responsibility Project”. If she had returned the clock, he would have known it when he got her coat. He would have been reassured. There would have been no reason for him to reject her; and therefore there would have been no reason for her to have looked so shocked when he did. She would have simply been disappointed.
Give us a break, people. This is a commercial, after all.

,,,
if she took the clock and expected the clock to still be in her coat pocket, i am surprised she would have let someone else get her coat for her. so i am confused about if she put it back or he put it back….and if she put it back why did she change her mind?
anyway, i wouldn’t have given a thieving blind date a ride home but maybe that is because i am a woman and i feel more vulnerable? i would have cut the communication way before the awkward “dropping you off at the door” moment.

Reactions speak louder than the film
The broad array of comments, I think, say more about the people commenting then they do about the film. The details of the film were intentionally left a little vague. The reactions show how quick to judge people can be. The responses were either very hard on one of the characters, or trying to be as “understanding” as possible. Actually, we don’t have enough information to make a judgment, and maybe that’s just the point.

Not so sure
When I watched this, my feeling was that Sarah Chalke’s character did NOT return the clock. My impression was that he returned the clock after retreiving it from the pocket of her coat since he is the one that brought the coat down from that room. But above comments are correct….no one really knows. However, for all the liberals above, she STOLE the clock. You can’t tell me it’s all ok because she’s a Klepto. Get real. Now i guess you’re going to say “oh those poor German soldiers…..they just didn’t know it was wrong to murder 6,000,000 people after taking everything away from them. Wah, Wah, Wah.

R U KIDDING?
The male slipped the clock out of her pocket when he brought it down.
SHE FELT FOR IT…IN THE CAR…and NOTICED HER JACKET “FELT LIGHT”, as her face showed.
She didn’t have an intention of returning (at least not to fruition) since he gave her her stuff, and they left.
HE RETURNED IT.
Unless PART 2 SHOWS ANOTHER HIDDEN SCENE…..

Point made
I really liked this and as someone mentioned it was cleverly done. The point was made and he was the responsible one since she wasn’t. Very common I am afraid.
