Lighthouse
Posted on 6/17/2008 by Kathy McManus
Sometimes being responsible is a burden. A lopsided obligation. A lonely and thankless job. In the wonderfully animated short film Lighthouse, a grumpy lighthouse keeper makes sure that a safe little seaside town stays that way, by dutifully maintaining the beacon that shines above it. The light that shines
There is but one light in this universe and it shines from within and unites us all. Well done Liberty Mutual for your crusade in advancing our knowledge at such a crucial time.

OMG I KNOW
I know what this is – It is s not some shining light of our souls like the people above me, sorry to say, or some let’s smile and help each other out. Without further ado… it’s about a CEO and man how those poor people down there annoy me shuts window. Anyway, have to act important cause I am what makes this economic machine work. It’s why i make millions. Crash! It’s broken. How fix it?(The boat you see out there, well that’s the SS subprime mortgage). No!I put so much into that boat. (CEO freaks out here and falls…then tries to fix it behind closed doors… but makes it worse) Oh, but now, people are getting kicked out of their houses so they go see what’s going on…. (in a galaxy far far away, Obiwan Kenobi feels a disturbance in the force of a million screams crying in unison while on the Millennium Falcon ..and it wasn’t because Alderan was destroyed by the death star just so you know). Back to the lighthouse. Those lights you see from town are the lights the CEO sees with … you guessed it … saved by those poor people and the man. They can pool their money for us every time we break something. With a big grin from the CEO, the SS Subprime Mortgage was diverted from total destruction while the poor people showered their light upon the rocks of doom (700 billion lights to be precise minus the 140K AIG took to the SPA’s cause they needed them there). The SS Subprime Mortgage ship was saved but did not escape without damage; it will take many days (probably years) before she sails again. For now, she is docked at Manhattan Harbor, awaiting the CEO to use the light of the people to rework her and possible rename her the SS Better Subprime Mortgage. Wow, I’m good. The end.

Unless you don’t know how to perform that task: since ancient times people specialized so to go to a new community. Why not bring something to the table others can’t do? You may like this task. Or, you can do what others don’t want to do and be treated like a second class citizen. Sorry, this is just my opinion.
I got stuck cutting the grass till I was old enough to leave home and how I begged to swap chores with my sister but to no avail. So, I believe you do it one time, you are now the chosen one for that task. NEVER AGAIN!!!

With a Little Help From Your Friends
Despite our best efforts, sometime we just can’t do it alone. We should all be so lucky as to live in a community where people see their neighbors in trouble and come to their aide WITHOUT being asked.

Brilliant
I think this short is brilliant. I definitely want to have a go at 3d modeling now and using the blender naturally.
Thank you so very much.

Light with warmth
I just love it SO MUCH! It was so dark and helpless to see a big problem in front of you, but when someone chose to take responsibility and all of them face the problem of society hand-in-hand, it was great-warm support.

Excelent work!
Really great lighting, animation, and overall, great work! Character’s moves very natural, movie has good secondary animation as well. Both sides, artistic and technical impressed me. Maybe it`s short, but it`s long enough to tell the main idea! Thank you!
