The Home Run
In The Home Run something extraordinary happens when two women’s college softball teams take the field in the 9th inning of an otherwise unremarkable game. Behind by a score of 2-0, the home team hasn’t given up—against the odds—but they also haven’t been able to hit much off the formidable fastball pitcher they face.
Until K.C.—who’s never hit a long-haul homerun—comes to bat. She connects with the ball, but that’s not why this true story captured headlines and hearts when it happened in 2008.
It’s because it redefined true sportsmanship.
And reminded us that winning isn’t everything.
And that doing the right thing sometimes means throwing out the rule book.
Because it’s never over until it’s over.

integrity 101
I think that it is awesome that you love the game of softball and that you are willing to show the same kind of integrety that the losing team showed. Those small acts of kindness and “fair play” are not only what great teams are made of, but great people. Keep the love for the game- xtremely pleased
